Application:
Gate valves with a shut-off element made in the form of a metal plate of small thickness are widely used in vacuum technology. This is due to the possibility of manufacturing a gate valve of practically any section with a minimum length, while in the open state the valve does not contain any elements protruding into the pipe. Due to this, such a valve creates a minimum resistance to residual gas, which is extremely important for the effective creation of a high vacuum.
Gate valves are sometimes used to regulate flow, but their main purpose is to completely close or open the movement of the medium. Gate valves are often used as part of oil and gas valves.
Gate valves are susceptible to corrosion. To protect against corrosion, valves made of corrosion-resistant alloys, gas-thermal spraying and plasma surfacing of corrosion-resistant metal coatings are used.
