Application:

Gate valve with rubber wedge is a modified type of pipeline fittings. The rubberized wedge helps to improve the tightness of the valve and increase its service life. Like other types of valves, a valve with a rubber wedge serves to completely shut off the flows of the working medium and is installed on pipelines carrying water, gas or oil.

On pipelines with water, a cast iron valve with a rubber wedge is mainly used. Such a valve is practical in operation, easy to install, reliable and can work in contact with an aqueous medium without damage to itself. But also a gate valve with a rubber wedge can be made from steel parts (see steel gate valve).

Features of the application.
A gate valve with a rubber wedge is used exclusively to open or close the flow of the working medium and is not intended to regulate it. Installation of the gate valve is allowed both horizontal and vertical. Any direction of flow of the working medium.

Benefits.
The main advantage of a gate valve with a rubber wedge is high reliability and tightness. The rubberized wedge increases the tightness of the valve up to class "A" and eliminates galling and scratches. The tightness of the valve will remain even if solid particles repeatedly hit the wedge.

Other benefits of rubber wedge gate valves include:

Reliability - work to repair up to a thousand cycles.
Convenient installation of the valve in any position.
In modern versions of gate valves with a rubberized spindle, a glandless stem seal is also installed (double rubber as a seal)
A gate valve with a rubber wedge provides increased service life combined with high corrosion resistance and minimal maintenance requirements.
